St. Vincent’s Medical Center in
Bridgeport has more than 3,200 employees. It includes a 473-bed community
teaching hospital, a 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility in Westport, a large
multispecialty provider group, and special needs services for adults and
children. St. Vincent’s is the first hospital in Fairfield County to be
integrated into the Hartford HealthCare network, and is the system’s
second-largest hospital.
Job Summary:
• Manages school health program activities, workflow and assigned nursing
resources.
Responsibilities:
• Ensures compliance with regulatory and school district requirements. Ensures
compliance with policies and procedures.
• Conducts hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
• Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of patient care services.
Participates in development and implementation of programs to ensure
efficient and effective
delivery of health services.
• Monitors and adheres to budget. Performs other administrative functions such
as reporting and audits.
• Provides direct nursing and supporting healthcare and assists in the
implementation of instructional activities for assigned program.
• Administers nursing services in compliance with established standards and
practices.
• Assesses the performance of employees and provides effective operational
supervision and support to assigned LPNs, RNs, and any other staff providing
medically oriented service.
• Reports changes in student's functioning/condition and other significant
information to parents/guardians, other healthcare providers and responsible
parties involved in care.
• Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Required Credential(s):
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Connecticut Department of
Public Health obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• One or more of the following:
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association
(AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Red Cross obtained
within 2 Months (60 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
• Graduate of an accredited BSN program
Work Experience:
• At least 5 years nursing experience.
• Experience working with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Leadership and supervisory experience required.
