Role Summary:

The Test Technician is responsible for supporting all aspects of test well work including test set up design and construction, operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, and wiring of motors. This position will conduct testing for a diverse product portfolio, which serves all our markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, construct, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot test well set ups.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical faults and other issues as the arise throughout the test, investigate test stand failures, and implement corrective actions or make recommendations if additional assistance is needed.
  • Maintain test files including calibration records, test records, and component inventory.
  • Maintain and use high precision measurement systems for pre-test and post-test measurements using specific equipment.
  • Maintain the integrity of test equipment, gauging instruments, and test results.
  • Support customers as necessary to meet their objectives and to achieve on-time delivery goals.
  • Responsible to stay within scope, schedule, and budget for all projects.
  • Ability to independently identify and resolve project issues.
  • Adhere to safe work habits, rules, and practices, including the correct use of safety devices and equipment.
  • Exhibit behavior that contributes toward an environment that encourages team building, decision making, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
  • Set up, test, and collect data for pump performance (and/or NPSH test) for all vertical, end suction, and split case pumps based on drawings and operational method sheets.
  • Collaborate with engineers regarding test plans, product design, and process improvements.
  • Ability to review test results to determine accuracy of test data collection for the test engineer.
  • Regularly communicate with all stakeholders on the performance of the test.
  • Exercise sound judgment on mechanical and electrical functioning of parts and set-ups.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
  • Basic math and writing skills.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • Training or experience in general mechanics.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical understanding.
  • Basic knowledge of rotating equipment such as motors, bearings, and power transmission (belts, gears, pulleys, etc.).
  • Able to use a wide variety of hand, power, and air tools.
  • Proficient in the use of measurement tools such as micrometers and tape measures.
  • Able to interpret assembly drawings, part drawings, equipment manuals, piping, and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID).
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office products (such as Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must have communication skills and a professional approach that contributes to team analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Able to multi-task to ensure meeting deadlines for both short- and long-term projects
  • Must maintain a clean and well-organized environment and work area at all times
  • Must wear required PPE and adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Expected to stand for long periods of time and have manual dexterity.
  • Able to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to work overtime as required.

Preferred Skills:

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Understanding of Wiring Diagrams
  • Experience in Use of Testing Equipment and testing related documentation
  • Forklift experience
  • Testing Experience
  • 70E background
  • Overhead Crane experience

The pay range for this position is $21.66 - 32.55 USD Hourly
