THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH.
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of Edward Jones Bank is responsible for designing, building and operating a comprehensive compliance management system (CMS) for a de novo FDIC-insured, state-chartered ILC. The CMS will operate independently from the larger enterprise compliance program maintained by the bank's parent company, a diversified financial services firm, but will leverage the programs, practices and resources that are available from the parent to support the bank. The CCO is part of the key leadership team of the Bank and has dual accountability to the Bank President and senior leadership in the Edward Jones Compliance Division.
What you'll do: - Serve as a trusted advisor on the Bank President's leadership team to opine on strategic plans and product development.
- Establish all the elements of a CMS commensurate with bank's size and complexity that monitors and provides insight to senior management, the board of directors as to whether the bank is operating in adherence with applicable rules and regulations.
- Creation and maintenance of a Compliance policy framework for the entity; oversee all compliance testing and formulation of reports to the proper committees and the board; monitor and report on all testing exception mitigation to ensure remediation and closure by the appropriate party.
- Recruit and retain a highly effective team of compliance professionals and define talent needs to accomplish objectives.
- Oversee proper compliance training for the Bank Board, management and applicable staff to ensure products, services and business operations of the Bank adhere to consumer protection laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures.
- Coordination and alignment where appropriate with parent company's enterprise compliance functions.
- Create a place of belonging, promote culture and spirit of volunteerism across the Bank in coordination with other leaders, and develop associates and leaders and hold them accountable to achieve their desired development goals.
- Represent the bank before the FDIC and Utah Department of Financial Institutions regarding compliance topics, acting as the lead regulatory contact during Compliance examinations; responsible for addressing and closing all findings identified in Compliance examinations.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of robust data protection measures to safeguard customer information and ensure the bank's privacy policies and practices are reasonably designed to comply with applicable law.
- This position will also have second line responsibilities for other regulatory compliance programs, such as Reg W, CRA and BSA/AML.

- Successfully demonstrated ability to interact with internal and independent auditors, and with legal entity Boards of Directors and committee members.
- Demonstrated experience working with an enterprise level Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) tool.
- Prior experience as a senior-level banking compliance professional.
- Significant understanding of state and federal banking rules and regulations.
- Experience with overseeing complaint handling, training programs and AML-BSA responsibilities.
- Significant understanding of state and federal banking rules and regulations and familiarity with banking operations, products and services, ideally including oversight and integration of securities and other non-deposit products of affiliates, including Reg U lending and broker-dealer sweep products.
- Familiarity with banking operations, cross-selling products to affiliates, and incentive compensation structures applicable to securities-based loans and deposit products.
- Expertise on anti-tying, Reg U, Reg O, TILA, ECOA, Reg E, UDAP, , FCRA, and other applicable consumer compliance regulations including a working knowledge of non-consumer compliance regulations such as Reg W, BSA/AML and CRA.
What will set you apart:- 15+ years of experience is preferred.
- Retail brokerage and banking experience and knowledge of financial and banking products.
- Experience as a Chief Compliance Officer with Utah chartered ILCs.
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager Designation preferred.
