Under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) supports the operation, inspection, and maintenance of all production equipment and systems within the facility, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects. This role is responsible for repairing and installing advanced production/manufacturing equipment, inspecting equipment for proper functioning, and performing preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer specifications. The EMT may mentor and provide support to less experienced mechanics, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and make more complex repairs or adjustments as needed.

 

1st, 2nd & 3rd Shifts available.

 

Job Duties:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on advanced production equipment.
  • Repair sophisticated production equipment as needed.
  • Conduct breakdown analysis.
  • Oversee or perform general housekeeping and upgrade production lines with new or upgraded equipment/technology.
  • Direct activities of outside contractors working on the assigned line.
  • Change production lines for package changeovers.
  • Enforce GMP, safety, and audit standards.
  • Work independently under limited supervision (self-management).
  • Document work schedules and tasks completed.
  • Respond effectively to all emergencies.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.
  • Recognize safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Adhere to all policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with State, County, or City ordinances, codes, or laws.
  • Document work performance and materials procurement as directed, using the work order system.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Completion of an applicable technical training program.
  • 3+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, basic electrical work, and troubleshooting practices.
  • 2+ years of experience in the operation and maintenance of a large-scale manufacturing facility.
  • Possess mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. and push/pull up to 12 lbs.
  • Capable of stooping, bending, stretching, and reaching outward and over the head.
  • Willingness to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • May require travel and completion of all appropriate training classes.
  • Willingness to cross-train into other departments.
