San Jacinto College Central Pasadena Campus is hiring an Energy Management Systems Manager for daily monitoring of Building Automation Systems, and to coordinate response to comfort concerns, provide analysis and administration of all assigned Energy Management projects and functions.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor the general operation of the Building Automation Systems to ensure proper operability and minimum energy consumption levels.
  • Respond to occupant  comfort  concerns  while  ensuring compliance with campus climate guidelines.
  • Review all monthly utility billing for accuracy. Identify, investigate, and report on all anomalies in water, gas, and electricity consumption.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly reports on energy metrics at the individual and building level with weather normalized comparison per square foot.
  • Manage ENERGY STAR and other Energy Benchmarking portfolios as assigned.
  • Assist the conduct or coordinate facility site visits, retro-commissioning efforts, and ASHRAE audits (Level I & II).
  • Maintain repair parts inventory list and order spare or replacement parts to agree service level.
  • Work directly with the Director and procurement to create requisitions, purchase orders, and payment authorizations.
  • Provide team level support as required to support departmental operations. This may occasionally involve working extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure adequate functional coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering, environmental science, business, or an applicable technical degree.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in energy management, energy efficiency, sustainability, facility management, HVAC design, or working in a craft field such as electrical or HVAC.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s license.
  • Certified Energy Manager in training.
  • Certified Energy Auditor in training TEMA Accredited Energy Manager in training.
  • Basic Financial Management and Accounting skills.
  • Self-motivated and quick, an adaptive learner in a changing environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with varied audiences, e.g., faculties, staff, directors, consultants, and operators.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
