JOB DESCRIPTION: Position based in or Charlotte, NC, some teleworking may be permitted. Travel to Lowe’s offices may be required.
Resolves complex problems spanning multiple applications to drive improvements across portfolios; leads projects with significant business implications, participates in planning and priority estimates, and advises Software Engineers; executes with limited guidance. Leads development of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions to ensure specifications are flexible, scalable, and maintainable and meet architectural standards. Educates others on current architectural standards and guidelines to drive efficiency when leading the design efforts of complex business and enterprise software solutions. Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for large, complex, cross-functional application initiatives by providing insight to testing teams in order to ensure the appropriate depth of test coverage Mentors and advises others in all software development lifecycle phases by applying and sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls. Communicates changes in software architecture and coaches’ others to apply this understanding to software solutions; resolves escalated issues. Leads efforts to improve engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices. Solves complex cross-functional architecture/design and business problems; solutions are extensible; works to simplify, optimize, remove bottlenecks. Mentors and advises others, sharing an in-depth understanding of company and industry methodologies, policies, standards, and controls.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job requires a Bachelor's Degree* in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, or a related field and 7 years of experience in any job title/occupation involving software engineering or a related field. *Employer will accept single degree or combination of degrees, diplomas and/or professional experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
Must have prior experience in:
• 7 years of experience in:
• Big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Oozie, and Sqoop;
• Search Engines like Solr and Katta; experience in Cassandra and Database Administration;
• Machine learning algorithms, Natural language processing and Sentimental analysis;
• SQL or SQL-like languages, such as MS SQL, MySQL, and Hive Query Language;
• Image analysis, comparison, Object detection and identification; and
• Build highly available and highly scalable web services and customer-facing RESTful APIs using web frameworks such as JAX-RS and Spring.
• 3 years of experience in:
• Graph database Amazon Neptune and Apache Tinker pop api for graph traversal for solving complex Machine Learning use cases;
• Distributed computing frameworks like Spark, Hadoop for Big Data analysis and Big Data processing;
• Use Solr for distributed searching and Vector search Engines like Facebook’s Faiss for advanced and efficient vector search; and
• Design and development of highly available, highly scalable and customer-facing applications with Java, Scala and Python.
