San Jacinto College Central Pasadena Campus is seeking to hire an experienced Logistics Specialist for our Facilities Division. The primary function of the role is to support the College Director of Maintenance and other leadership to ensure effective and smooth operations, directing work orders of the Maintenance Department to the proper trade, reviewing and directing work requests, directing work requisitions in a timely manner, assuring that compiled requests are documented and closed in the computerized Maintenance System, assisting with inventory, life safety systems and package delivery.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assure that you have complete knowledge of appropriate procedures and take measures to assure a safe outcome for all tasks undertaken.
  • Act as gatekeeper for incoming work requests delivered by email, telephone or through the computerized maintenance management system (TMA), assessing work requests for appropriate craft assignment and timing requirements for scheduling and routing, generating purchase requisitions for craft maintenance staff and leadership as necessary to maintain facilities and complete projects.
  • Processing data into enterprise management system (Banner) verifying back up, using packing slips and picking tickets for all purchase orders verifying correct location to deliver packages.
  • Assist the Facilities Support Services Manager in performing life safety systems inspections (fire extinguishers, fire door integrity, door hardware and closers), documentation of inspections and scheduling of service/periodic inspections.
  • Request delivery of fuels (diesel & gasoline), receive deliveries of fuels, measure and record quantities for entry into the Fuel Master computerized fuel management system. Manage monthly variance reporting.
  • Support college in disaster planning, preparation and recovery.
  • Receiving and helping with inventory management of parts and materials in the warehouse (periodic inventory of stock, issuance of parts, physical arrangement and movement of parts in warehouse).
  • Coordinating preventive maintenance for elevators, assuring compliance with authorities having jurisdiction and management of operating and inspection documentation.  Notifying the proper elevator service when emergencies occur, aiding the company when necessary, and guaranteeing that all service phones are performing properly.
  • Receive, log and deliver packages to appropriate departments and/or persons at the College.
  • Unload freight from delivery trucks with pallet jack and/or fork lift.
  • Manage monthly reporting of CMMS survey results.

Qualifications:

  • Accounting procedures and Banner
  • Purchasing procedures and Banner
  • TMA software
  • Microsoft Office and Excel
  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Associate’s Degree
  • 1-2 years office/clerical experience with knowledge of computerized maintenance management software, Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook) and strong customer service and delivery service experience.
  • 3 years of office/clerical experience with knowledge of Banner and TMA programs.
