The Opportunity:


Plan, organize and control all activities of the Human Resource department ensuring the HR strategy is aligned to the business strategy.  Counsel and advise management on strategies to create a healthy, productive and positive work environment for all employees.  Work closely with all stakeholders on the interpretation and implementation of company policies and procedures.  Assure compliance with state and federal statutes in regard to hiring, employment practices and working conditions. Work in collaboration with partners to create and implement strategies to modernize and improve DC people processes.



Essential Functions of Job:



  • Lead the local distribution center HR department to include the selection, training, development, appraisal and work assignments for direct reports on the HR team.
  • Provide strategy for hiring full-time and contingent workers to support heavy peak staffing volumes to include effective selection, onboarding, retention and engagement.
  • Drive engagement efforts aimed at creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Work with management team in recommending and implementing personnel policies and procedures.
  • Ensure consistent enforcement of personnel policies and revisions where necessary.
  • Guide and/or conduct investigations around employee dispute resolution
  • Participate and guide in employee disciplinary actions and ensure fairness and consistency.
  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Benchmark/survey for benefits and compensation, make recommendations to stakeholders. .
  • Establish relationships and a presence in the local community with various private and government organizations.


  • Perform other related HR or administrative duties as assigned or required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to make sound decisions and judgments and practice confidentiality.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written and public speaking communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, organize and handle multi-tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to pro-actively respond to a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to effectively give and receive feedback in a professional and respectful manner that sets an example to others.
  • Successfully model teamwork and demonstrate a collaborative approach when working with staff, associates and management.

  • Maintain a flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs.

  • Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments.


Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or relevant experience. Masters Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Human Resource Management experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

The annual base salary range for this position is $118,150.00 - $132,050.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.  Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.  Sephora offers a generous benefits package to full-time employees, which includes comprehensive health, dental and vision plans; a superior 401(k) plan, various paid time off programs; employee discount/perks; life insurance; disability insurance; flexible spending accounts; and an employee referral bonus program.
