ALL ABOUT VISUAL MERCHANDISING
The Visual Merchandiser supports a great guest experience by ensuring that visual moments are set and maintained to the Visual Merchandising Guide (VMG) direction and inspirational for the guest to drive sales. They are experts in visual standards, which includes specific merchandising techniques, mannequin styling, fixture blocking, lighting, and In-Store Marketing (ISM) elements.

- Knowledge of retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies

- Experience training and developing team members to improve their visual merchandising acumen and skills
- Experience in leading the strategy of visual merchandising and Visual Standards implementation
As a Visual Merchandiser, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias. Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience. Model, train and coach expectations to deliver on our GUEST service model culture.
- Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions
- Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store, and specific to your area, to solve issues for the guest and improve their experience
- Understand sales goals, plan daily/weekly workload with ETL or SD guidance, and execute the same to deliver on visual merchandising, department and store sales goals, guest engagement; including: merchandising, transitions, events and promotions.
- Support the execution of the company Visual Merchandising strategy, visual standards and In-Store Marketing (ISM) across all pertinent areas of the store
- Support and validate the execution of all Visual Merchandising Guides (VMG) sets in the store in partnership with leaders
- Set all overhead spotlights to highlight key merchandising presentations.
- Support the execution and assess store visual standards to help elevate visual presentations in A&A, Home, Company Space, LTOs and Brand Launches
- Partner with leaders and TMs to maintain visual integrity by remerchandising in-store visual moments
- With ETL/SD guidance, solve merchandising issues and adjust sets to create and maintain inspiring presentations
- Support ETL or SD with team onboarding, continuous learning and help close knowledge and skill gaps through training, influencing and hands on experiences.
- Leverage daily interactions and huddles to teach visual standards and how to create inspiring visual moments to Style Consultants and General Merchandise Experts to support building the basket for each guest.
- Maintain organization of backroom ISM space and keep up to date with current signing tools and signing fixtures. Set all non-planogram ISM elements throughout the store.
- Always demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
- Work in a safe manner at all times to benefit yourself and others; identify and correct hazards; comply with all safety policies and best practices.

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything youneed to know to be a Visual Merchandiser. But, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 to 2 years of visual merchandising experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older
- Business acumen (i.e. margin, profitability, etc.) and creativity to inspire guests and drive sales
- Strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of our brand
- Lead and influence store teams to follow processes that support visual merchandising
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.

- Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues

- Interpret instructions, reports and information
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
- Climb up and down ladders as needed
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 15 pounds and occasionally lifting or moving merchandise and fixtures up to 44 pounds without additional assistance from others
- Flexible work schedule. (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).
