The Steel Plant Foreman plays a critical role in supervising and coordinating the activities and safety of production workers, ensuring efficient, high-quality operations within the steel plant. This position involves overseeing daily production, enforcing company policies, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment while driving operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise daily production activities in alignment with policies and principles set by the Steel Plant Manager.
- Ensure smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Assign daily tasks and schedules to plant employees, ensuring clarity, efficiency and productivity.
- Oversee all plant personnel to build a cohesive and high-performing team.
- Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with standards.
- Hold authority to halt production for quality concerns and promptly escalate issues to the Quality Assurance and Steel Plant Managers.
- Manage part tag identification for raw materials, in-process items and finished parts.
- Perform inventory cycle counts and input daily raw material usage into manufacturing orders.
- Review production, quality, maintenance and operational metrics to ensure goals are met.
- Identify variances and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Evaluate equipment maintenance needs and recommend necessary actions to minimize downtime and maintain operational reliability.
- Maintain a safe workplace by enforcing protocols and addressing risks.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing or steel plant environment.
- Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or steel plant environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in inventory management and production tracking systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate teams.
