POSITION SUMMARY: Performs a variety of complex installation, maintenance and repair of on-line electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic equipment and systems in one or more specialty areas: electrical /electronics, welding/fabrication, plumbing, carpentry, etc. may lead less experienced mechanics on projects or in the absence of supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. - Maintains safe, efficient, and proper operation of a variety of Fulfillment Center equipment and systems.
- Locates and diagnoses complex equipment failures, replaces defective components, and performs troubleshooting using a variety of hand, power and test equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, etc. to ensure timely corrective action.
- Completes and maintains appropriate maintenance, inventory, and repair logs as necessary.
- Estimates costs, prepares requisitions as required and contacts vendors to order parts and services as necessary.
- Recommends and implements improvements to equipment, operations and procedures.
- May lead and guide other maintenance associates in safety procedures, installations, maintenance and repairs of equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot PLC and Profibus control and InControl Ware system.
- Install, maintain, and repair building and electrical systems including but not limited to 230/460-volt three phase systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot and repair mechanical hydraulic, and pneumatic systems including those found on lift truck equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair conveyor systems.
- Welding duties to include layout, fabrication, cutting, and welding of various types of structural and light duty metals in a maintenance environment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all material handling equipment.
- Performs general construction installations, maintenance, and repairs. (I.e. carpentry, paining, plumbing, flooring, and roof repairs).
- Maintain interior and exterior concrete and asphalt repairs including snow and ice removal as needed.
- Maintain and repair all dock equipment (lights, doors and levelers).
- Perform safety inspections and record maintenance as assigned.
- Assists in the dismantling of machines or equipment, replacement of defective parts and motors, and adjustment of feed mechanisms.
- Performs battery change on power equipment.
- Clears clogged drains and replaces plumbing fixtures.
- Requisitions new materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
- Performs other special projects or duties as assigned.
- Willingness to work various shifts to meet business needs.
Required Education and/or Experience: - High School Diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in a related technical field.
- Five to Seven years’ experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of equipment including mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems.
- Proven proficiency in one or more of the following areas: electrical/electronics, welding/fabrication, HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing, electrohydraulic, mechanical, and electrical drive systems.
- Willingness to work various shifts to meet business needs.
- Must be a self-starter and manage assigned tasks independently
Preferred Education and/or Experience: - Preferred experience: State licensure or proven knowledge and experience in one or more areas (Electrical, Welding, HVAC, Plumbing, Electro-hydraulics, mechanical and electrical drive systems, etc.)
