As we continue to grow, we're looking for an organized, detail-oriented Accounting Manager / Controller to join our team. GCAW is a leading custom equipment fabricator for the Oil & Gas industry, founded in 1981.

 

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller / Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in construction and manufacturing accounting practices, including job costing. This role is critical to our financial operations, providing leadership and strategic direction in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Familiarity with our job costing software, E2 (ECI JobBoss2), is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all accounting operations including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Prepare and publish timely and accurate monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Implement and manage job costing procedures using E2 (ECI JobBoss2).
  • Ensure accurate job costing and allocation of costs to specific projects.
  • Analyze job cost reports and provide insights to project managers and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Coordinate and facilitate annual audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide regular reports to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in job costing software, specifically E2 (ECI JobBoss2).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
