
The Quality Control Shop Floor Inspector will be responsible for inspecting welding quality and performing dimensional inspections on ASME code pressure vessels, ensuring all products meet strict industry and company standards. The ideal candidate will be efficient, detail-oriented, and have a thorough understanding of ASME code and welding techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded and fabricated components, ensuring compliance with ASME code standards.
- Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, and misalignment, ensuring all welds meet quality specifications.
- Conduct dimensional checks of equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications and blueprints.
- Record and report inspection results accurately, identifying non-conformities and recommending corrective actions when needed.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ASME code requirements, welding techniques, and industry best practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality control processes and procedures.
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
- Expected hours: 50-60 per week

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical certifications preferred.
- Background in welding or fitting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control, welding inspection, or a similar role in an ASME code fabrication environment.
- Strong knowledge of ASME code requirements and welding standards.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
- Experience with inspection tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in welding inspection (e.g., AWS CWI) or quality control is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods is a plus.
