Job Description:
This position performs testing, analysis, and operational maintenance to protect and support UPS's Information Services Management's (ISM) fixed and mobile assets. He/She supports systems engineering staff in sustaining key enterprise devices (e.g., DWS, Thermal Printing, Scanning Hardware, Scales, and Data Terminals) and related peripheral hardware and system software. This position assists with testing, installation, and configuration of vendor and UPS-developed solutions. He/She performs tasks (e.g., monitoring, back-up, recovery operations, etc.) to ensure availability and assists with executing business continuity plans and testing.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and reports infrastructure systems and component malfunctions to escalate and resolve problems.
- Monitors routine operations (e.g., back-ups, log rotations, etc.) utilizing pre-defined procedures and tools to ensure compliance and quality.
- Executes documented steps to build and verify the system performs as expected.
- Performs and validates basic installations and component replacements to address application and user service requirements.
- Documents and reports completed work to provide status and system updates.
- Performs basic troubleshooting to resolve installation problems.
- Performs service operation assignments to meet business and user needs.
- Supports maintenance, installation, and problem resolutions to meet system and operational guidelines.
Additional Requirements
A Level 3 Network Operations Specialist should possess advanced skills in hardware/software troubleshooting, focusing on network connectivity, IP addressing/configuration, and firewall management. Responsibilities include resolving escalated issues via outbound phone support, ensuring network stability, and maintaining robust security protocols. Additional key skills include:
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols(e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and diagnostic tools.
- Expertise in security protocols, including VPN setup, firewall rules, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Proficiency in monitoring tools and diagnostic softwarefor real-time network performance analysis.
- Strong technical documentation skillsto create and maintain troubleshooting guides and process documentation.
- Ability to manage escalated ticketswith precision, ensuring timely resolution of critical issues.
- Experience with network hardware, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of switches, routers, and access points.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or International equivalent - Preferred.
- Able to travel occasionally.
- Able to provide on-call support, including nights and weekends.
- Able to work a flexible schedule.

Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $30.50/hr to $49.55/hr. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
