Tyco Integrated Fire & Security creates innovative, high-quality solutions that meet customer needs in the future.How you will do itLead installation, commissioning, and verification activities on Fire Alarm related equipment for all type of installations, including connection of devices and circuits.Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications.Supervise, delegate and coordinate work with co-workers and electricians working on Fire Alarm systems.Complete verification reports for submittal to customers and carry out system acceptance tests with AHJ’s and other interested parties.Complete As Built drawings on the completion of the job.Maintain up to date knowledge of various product lines.Identify deficiencies and code issuesin the field during verification.Troubleshoot hardware issues, ground faults, open and short circuits.Travel throughout the District business area when required.Conduct programming modifications to an existing system without supervision.Program audio and non-audio standalone systems (upon training).Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers.Mentor less experienced technicians.What we look forRequiredMinimum 3 years of experience within the Fire Protection industry.Completion of a college diploma in Fire Protection or Electrical/Electronic or equivalent experience.Completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or equivalent.Knowledgeable of provincial building & fire codes for verification purposes.Demonstrated ability to program basic fire alarm systems without supervision.Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft excel, word and Windows operating systems.Advanced troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of electronic test equipment.Ability to express clear technical solutions in a clear and concise manner.Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 40lbs.Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.Possess a valid driver’s license.Strong communication skills, leadership skills and customer service focus.JCI employees are valued members of the Johnson Controls family.
