We have 36 beds with 30 semi-private rooms and 3 semi-private rooms, which includes 1 negative pressure room.Each patient has a telemetry monitor that they are required to wear at all times while on the unit. We take many types of patients including hemodynamically stable adults ages 18 or greater that require monitoring every four hours. The unit can take pediatric patients ages 14 or greater into a private room with a guardian present. Common diagnoses include cardiac intervention, pre-CABG, arrhythmias, blood pressure abnormalities, congestive heart failure, substance abuse, and general medical patients. The unit also takes medication drips including antiarrhythmic medications, IV nitroglycerin, heparin, non-titrating dopamine, and IV inotropic (not including levophed, neosynephrine, or labetalol).
