Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking an Production Supervisor- for 1st shift, to join our managerial team at our plant in Cudahy, CA The Supervisor works closely with the manufacturing operations team, seeking to maximize productivity at minimum cost of assigned department(s) as well as offering support and direction to hourly staff to meet productivity and quality objectives. This role is supervising the foundry's Heat Treat, Straightening and NDT departments .

Operate as a business owner demonstrating metrics-based management in areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.Supervises and coordinates activities of hourly foundry employeesEnsures hourly employees in assigned department receive adequate training and support.Ensures effective employee relations, coaching, and employment development.Create a positive culture focused on metrics and progressing business unit forward through group participation and ownership of project pipeline and business unit.Responsible for driving a culture of safety in your business unit, putting safety first, and utilizing stand up meetings, safety talks, and other means to communicate and set expectations with employees, driving accountability and excellence in all facets of safety.Owns quality, productivity, cost, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.Responsible for on-boarding new employees and training for on-the-job tasks and responsibilities.Organizes raw metal, power assist machines and information necessary to complete assigned jobs and checks all documentation (travelers, special instructions, etc.) to help ensure the best possible resultsFollows specific formulas, procedures, and specifications throughout the metal melting process to ensure the greatest consistency of specified metal properties for casting production.Mentor existing Leads and/or develop Leads to help facilitate company goals and objectives.Responsible for performance management and conducting annual performance reviews.Enforces and implements company policies in a way that employees buy-in.Develops and implement corrective actions where necessary.Understandand communicatequality specifications required by customers to staff.Partners with and engages Engineering & Quality for product & policy needs. Supports Engineering and Quality with improvements to business systems, process, and product.Responsible for preventive maintenance program where applicable. Resolve daily maintenance issues or breakdowns by partnering with facility maintenance team.Responsible for owning inventory and supplies for department, keeping business unit within spending budget and maintaining appropriate levels for production demand.Utilize LEAN management tools within your business unit.Continuous improvement – hold formal meetings with hourly workers to obtain cost saving projects that will be reported to Senior Management in the proper format.Focus on TOC’s – Delivery, Cost (earn/spend), ThroughputDisplay positive attitude towards employees and peers to aid in forging a metric driven culture.Participate in overall scrap and rework reduction.
Salary: $35.00-$40.0/hr DOEQualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business Admin, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering) 3+ years supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment – preferably sandcast, casting, aerospace, melting, or heavy manufacturing.Proficient MS Office suite of software (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.)Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skillsStrong commitment and focus on safety.Ability to gather and employ data to meet organizational goals in metric driven environment.
