Traveling frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants, averaging 50-75 miles from residenceMaking in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participationCollecting confidential information and administering standardized questionnairesIndependently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainingsTransmitting data as scheduledAssuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project-issued equipmentSafeguarding any participant incentives, issued equipment, or project materials against damage, loss, or theftAssuming responsibility for and carefully tracking all participant incentivesSubmitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reportsVirtually attend scheduled meetings with other members of the project teamAdministering a short screening interviewRecruiting respondents for a longer main interview, if selectedMaintaining regular access to a reliable wireless internet connection in your home for project workMeeting weekly with supervisor via ZoomCompliance with all audit requests is mandatoryRTI International is seeking part-time field interviewers on the National Household Enumeration Study (NHES). NHES collects data about television viewing and household composition. The study involves an in-person screening averaging 5 minutes and a household interview that usually lasts between 5 to 10 minutes. NHES data collectors are responsible for traveling to respondents’ homes to conduct the in-person screenings and interviews.Minimum Required Qualifications
Must be at least 21 years old at the time of employmentMust possess High School Diploma or GEDPossess effective communication skills through speech and listeningFluency in both English and Spanish through reading, writing, and speakingAvailable for entire training and data collection periodAble to successfully complete trainingMust have a valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business useComfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipmentAccess to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilitiesAble to keep project information confidentialWillingness to work in various types of weather conditions and after dark

Positive, self-motivated, curious, and enjoy interacting with people from culturally-diverse backgroundsEffective time, schedule, and workload management skills to meet set deadlinesComputer skills, namely email and internet proficiencyBe comfortable working in unfamiliar areasThe data collection period is expected to be December 2024 through July 2025On average, you will be needed approximately 25 hours per week when work is availableOn average, you should be available to work in the field 4 days each weekThe majority of this work is anticipated to be during evenings and weekendsEach of your trips to the field are expected to be at least 4 hours longField Interviewers are required to complete trainings which include:
Successfully pass project required trainingsAttendance at all trainings is mandatoryAttend a 2-day virtual screening training, to be scheduled in DecemberAttend an in-person training to be scheduled in late February that likely requires air travel.
