The APP will be the overnight provider caring for the MICU patients directly ensuring the appropriate patient care, documentation, and continue progression of care with reviewing and interpreting lab and imaging studies, and bedside rounding with RNs and RTs, and performing ICU procedures including central lines and arterial lines and collaborating with the on-call intensivist and hospitalist. The APP will partner with the Hospitalist Nocturnist to take new ICU admissions and can facilitate early consultations with PCCM, as well as coordinating patient transfers to higher level of care facilities as needed. The APP will also perform night bedside rounds on PCU patients, and partner with Nursing Supervisor to evaluate patients who may be eligible to stepdown out of PCU level of care. The Physical Therapist (PT) evaluates, treats and educates patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, burn/wound injuries or to patients with other acute or chronic physical disabilities through the use of physical therapy techniques to relieve pain, restore physical functioning and facilitate independence. Overview Under the supervision of the Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) assists in performing assessments, determining, revising and implementing treatment plan in order to identify, prevent, remediate and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) utilizes treatment skills and tools in order to measure and assess patient needs, therapeutic application of physical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence.
