OVERVIEW St. Vincent's Medical Center is seeking an Area Manager (PT/OT/SLP) for it's Acute Care Rehab and Inpatient Rehab Units. The Area Manager is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations, department personnel, and patient care for specific patient populations who require the needs of rehabilitation services. As a member of the Rehab management team, the Area Manager assists in the development of Rehabilitation department goals, objectives and standards, quality assurance, department education, and budget development, preparation and control. Coordinates department activities to include regulatory requirements, equipment quality control / maintenance, and performance improvement. Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating team members.Serves as an effective liaison between department staff, leaders, and other department leaders and medical staff. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ·Coaches, mentors, and guides staff to achieve professional and developmental goals, incorporate performance improvement initiatives into practice, and holds staff accountable for compliance with regulatory standards. ·Participates in the interviewing and selection of new employees. Ensures frequent and informal performance feedback as well as annual performance appraisals for staff. Holds staff accountable by adhering to hospital policies and standards for hiring, performance expectations, discipline and termination. ·Ensures the team uses the necessary resources to meet and exceed a standard of excellence, build efficiencies in processes and innovate new and creative ways to improve the work. ·Monitor and achieve operational budgets to maximize profitability while maintaining a quality program.
