OVERVIEW St. Vincent's Medical Center is seeking an Area Manager (PT/OT/SLP) for it's Acute Care Rehab and Inpatient Rehab Units. The Area Manager is responsible for the management of day-to-day operations, department personnel, and patient care for specific patient populations who require the needs of rehabilitation services. As a member of the Rehab management team, the Area Manager assists in the development of Rehabilitation department goals, objectives and standards, quality assurance, department education, and budget development, preparation and control. Coordinates department activities to include regulatory requirements, equipment quality control / maintenance, and performance improvement. Responsible for hiring, supervising and evaluating team members.Serves as an effective liaison between department staff, leaders, and other department leaders and medical staff. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ·Coaches, mentors, and guides staff to achieve professional and developmental goals, incorporate performance improvement initiatives into practice, and holds staff accountable for compliance with regulatory standards. ·Participates in the interviewing and selection of new employees. Ensures frequent and informal performance feedback as well as annual performance appraisals for staff. Holds staff accountable by adhering to hospital policies and standards for hiring, performance expectations, discipline and termination. ·Ensures the team uses the necessary resources to meet and exceed a standard of excellence, build efficiencies in processes and innovate new and creative ways to improve the work. ·Monitor and achieve operational budgets to maximize profitability while maintaining a quality program. Accountable for results and outcomes of locations and programs in area of control. Responsible for maintaining site compliance and creating hospital/department policies and procedures, and remains within standards set by accrediting bodies such as Joint Commission and DPH. ·Grow existing services and assist new programmatic initiatives based on market demands. Promotes department through development of effective physician and nursing staff relationships and external customers - establishing and maintaining effective relationships that gains their trust and respect.Qualifications ·BS, MS or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech Therapy and relevant licensure within the state of CT ·5 years’ experience as a supervisor or manager ·Understanding of the business aspect of rehabilitation ·Ability to analyze and develop key financial and operational metrics ·Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint as well as electronic heath records and other software applications We take great care of careers. This is currently a part time (24 hour) position with the potential to temporarily increase to more hours during the week for coverage of other clinicians. Our Outpatient Rehab Clinic in Westport, CT is our flagship location within Fairfield County. It is connected to the Ayer Neuroscience Spine Wellness center and is part of a multidisciplinary team of medical, rehabilitation, and wellness professionals dedicated to improving the health of all patients. This therapist will collaborate with professionals throughout the facility who provide rehabilitation, pain management, physical medicine, integrative medicine, fitness, nutrition, and behavioral health services to improve surgical and non-surgical outcomes. All of our clinics have ample private treatment spaces and state-of-the-art gyms to support our patient’s recovery. Specialty Programs in this clinic include Balance & Falls (Safe Steps), Cancer Rehabilitation, Complex Spine, Concussion, Dry Needling, Gender-Affirming Rehab, Headache Management, Chronic Pain Management, Pelvic Health, Sports Medicine, Thoracic Outlet and Vestibular Therapy. The Physical Therapist (PT) independently evaluates, determines treatment strategies, delivers and/or delegates services that identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute or prolonged physical dysfunction or pain, with emphasis on physical dysfunction. This role encompasses evaluation skills and techniques, analysis of patients, and therapeutic application of physical and chemical agents, exercise and other procedures to maximize the patient's functional independence. Evaluation involves strength, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living. Responsibilities: Upon referral, the Physical Therapist (PT) performs thorough examination and evaluation of patient’s level of function, includingstrength, movement, motor control, joint mobility, soft tissue integrity, pain, balance, coordination, posture, cardiopulmonary function by assessing and monitoring vitals, endurance, gait and functional abilities in activities of daily living. The PT recognizes physiological, psychological, and age-related changes in the patient.The Physical Therapist (PT) develops an individualized patient-centered treatment plan of care to promote optimum movement function and safety.The Physical Therapist (PT) implements, delivers and delegates patient care by utilizing appropriate interventions and clinical decision making including but not limited to modalities such as heat, cold, light, water, sound, electricity, mobilization and therapeutic exercise.The Physical Therapist (PT) helps to coordinate patient care with other care providers such as Rehab Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers andparticipates in patient transition planning and/or patient discharge planning including recommendations to community resources to meet patient needs throughout the continuum of care.
