Summary:The Lifestyle Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination’s, and implementation of all programs and ensuring that it is therapeutic to the residents and maximizes their quality of life. Maplewood Senior Living offers a full range of social, physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual and purposeful programs to meet overall wellbeing of our residents. The Lifestyle Coordinator shall make every effort to meet the comprehensive needs and interests of all of the residents.
Essential Functions:
Provide outstanding customer service to all residents, family members, responsible persons, and visitors of residents in the communityEnsure therapeutic recreation programming meets all state, federal and other regulations.Demonstrate requisite knowledge, skills and abilities consistent with the duties & responsibilities of this position.Personable, reliable and a great communicator and team player.Able to relate professionally and positively to residents, physicians, government regulators, incoming visitors and associates at all levels.Provide ongoing communication to the Lifestyle Director, Resident Service Director and Executive Director regarding staffing issues or concernsOther responsibilities as assigned by supervisor (Lifestyle Director/Executive Director).Attend Monthly All Associate meetingsAttend bi-Monthly Regional Lifestyle Coordinator meetingsAssist with maintaining Schedule K binder of all residents’ information regarding resident preferences around HIPAA (i.e., photo release, programing opt-out, etc.)
Care, Service Plans and Wellness
Participate in weekly tracking meetings to Assure that daily information and observations by LSD is utilized
Therapeutic Recreation Program
Ensures a monthly program calendars is designed and implemented based on residents abilities, interests hobbies, religions and work/volunteer experiencePlans, implements, and conducts/monitors recreational programs to meet the needs of all of our resident Select, schedule and lead activities appropriate for all levels and abilitiesAssist with coordination with transportation of residents for outings and events outside of the community, which may include driving a community motor vehicle.Successfully work within Lifestyle budgetary guidelines regarding entertainment, supplies and labor hoursAssist with planning and implementation of special events for the community, at least one family event per quarterAssist with completion of Staying Connected Form/Personal History Form for all residentsAssist with maintaining a Staying Connected Binder of all residents personal history forms andUtilizes the information when creating the recreation program calendarAssist with coordinating WISH Program/Parallel activities with Resident Service Care team.Ensure and maintain appropriate program supplies for recreation programsAssist with purchasing adaptive program supplies as needed to meet the needs of the residentsAssist Lifestyle Director with keeping current a list of local entertainers who will provide entertainmentAssist the Lifestyle Director to ensures that a full activity program is offered seven days a week, including evenings and holidaysPosts the current monthly, weekly and daily schedule of activities in public areas and distributes to Department ManagersIn absent of Lifestyle Director, Co-leads monthly Resident Council Meeting with Executive Director and works with ED on agenda.In absent of Lifestyle Director, Co-Lead a monthly Culinary Service Meeting with the Culinary Service Director for the residents to provide feedbackProvide an afternoon social or Happy hour dailyAssist the Lifestyle Director to hold a monthly Activity Committee Meeting to provide residents opportunity to give input into the monthly calendar of events.Meet with residents and families to identify resident interests, resolve concerns, and develop meaningful relationshipsAnnual Maplewood theme programming has been included on monthly calendar and is being heldWill provide Information to front desk to assist residents in organizing self-directed programing - e.g. contacts lists for Bridge Club, etc., phone numbersOther duties as assigned
Sales & Marketing
Assist with touring and providing information about MSL therapeutic recreation programs to families of perspective residentsDevelop and distribute a monthly calendar and newsletter
Compliance/ Safety/Vehicle
Follows all emergency proceduresUnderstands and implements all safety practices and procedures.Assist with taking Photos of new residents within 24 hours of move in and staff is oriented to new resident

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification
An associate degree from an accredited college or university or satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major work in recreation, occupational therapy, gerontology or a related field, or two years of full-time experience in the recreation field with an adult populationMust possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of lifeExcellent communication, organization and time management skillBasic typing skills and computer knowledge (familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Publisher and creative software)Driver requirements: Valid driver’s license with good driving record (may be required to take a driving test)
Physical Requirements
Must be capable of using up to 50 pounds occasionally while lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, climb stairs and/or stepladders, push wheelchairs, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, or crouch, reach with hands arms, balance, lift and perform medium to the maximum transfer assists with residents.
