The Resident assists with the education of pharmacy students from colleges of pharmacy.Provide clinical pharmacy services, promoting safe and rational use of medications to improve patient outcomesCoordinate the delivery of clinical pharmaceutical care to assigned areasProvide pharmaceutical care through appropriate, safe, and cost-effective drug therapy protocol/policiesMaintain strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense medications accordinglyConsult with physicians and nursing staff regarding patient reactions, errors, and complaintsDetermine and consult on possible drug interactionsAssist in the supervision and training of pharmacy technician personnelParticipate in drug utilization reviewAssist with quality improvement initiatives, inventory, and ordering of pharmaceuticalsMonitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systemsUtilize knowledge of age specific needs of patients in performance of duties and responsibilitiesFollow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredParticipate in educational activities such as pharmacy student case conferences, student journal clubs, and other student development projects.
