You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.You will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.You will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.You will respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.You will perform routine and high-risk procedures as prescribed by the Physician and follow appropriate policy in the application of respiratory procedures.You will communicate with physicians on the effectiveness of respiratory care procedures.You will thoroughly explain and answer patient and family questions regarding respiratory care.You will review patients' charts to verify order and check for contradictions of therapy.You will assess patient and provide proper documentation in patient's chart as related to therapy.You will assemble, install, disassemble, assess and maintain equipment according to manufacturer and department policy.What qualifications you will need:Acceptable degree from an accredited school - Associate in Respiratory Therapy or Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy is requiredA Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Florida, in accordance with law and regulation, is required1-3 years of experience is preferred.
