Key duties will be fusing multiple sources of geospatial and non-geospatial information, publishing geospatial products to a geospatial webserver, training geospatial techniques in ad-hoc environments, migrating, and standardizing large GIS datasets into updated geospatial formats (ESRI ArcMap to ArcPro).ResponsibilitiesWork with your team to gather requirements, determine scope, and estimate hours needed to develop and deliver custom geospatial analytic solutions to our government customerPerform geospatial functions in support of project development and productionCollaborate daily with cross-functional internal and external team members, outside contractors and occasionally third-party vendors, as client requiresImplement standards, processes, and procedures governing the operation of the classified geospatial web serverIdentify and implement improvements to system designs and processing methodologies to improve efficiency, scale, reliability, and mitigate operational riskTake part in strong QA/QC protocols and be able to learn and implement better practices based on QC feedback you receiveMaintain production operations and other tasks as needed to satisfy customers and fulfill contractual deliverablesExperience with database administration, specializing in GIS database managementTransform large, complex, and often disparate data sets and documents into one central and accurate relational ESRI ArcGIS geodatabaseAbility to thrive when challenged with repetitive environment and reviewing/processing massive amounts of dataUse established standards for content, format, scale, and spatial projectionLearns, advise, train and mentor with other team members on technical topicsWrite and edit procedures, methods, workflow documents and standard operating processesRequired QualificationsActive SECRET security clearanceBachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geographic Information Science (GIS) or related field(5 years of experience in lieu of degree)2+ years of professional experienceSignificant experience with geospatial data management, complex MXDs and/or APRXs, definitions queries, advanced label properties, advanced symbology, etcExperience in GIS, geospatial data management – strongly prefer experience with ESRI ArcGIS/ArcPro, publishing datasets, SDEMust possess a strong client focus and personal work ethicPreferred SkillsMaster's Degree in Geography, GIS or related fieldExperience publishing from an SDE to the web and/or PortalAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment as an individual contributor and teamPersonal management acumen adequate for autonomous task completionKnowledge of a wide range of research and collection methods and analytical applications to support the all-source requirements and to develop advanced geospatial analytic assessments for the customerSomewhat proficient in Python, ArcSDE, Microsoft Excel, Geodatabases, feature classes with attachments and domainsStrong communication and documentation skills; candidate must be able to present and deliver products to diverse audiences as needed, sometimes with little noticeExperience with AutoDesk AutoCAD data migration to geospatial format and/or experience with TurboCAD#cjpost#LI-CJ1In support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, and theWashington, DC metropolitan area is:$65,000.00 - $80,000.00For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
