Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate maintenance equipment, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; walking or standing for extended periods of time; bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling or crouching to conduct custodial and maintenance work; seeing to operate appropriate machinery; and lifting heavy objects. Education High School diploma or G.E.D. with two years of experience in facilities maintenance or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of general building maintenance, inventory and facilities management is required. AA in Business or related field preferred. Previous experience with contracting preferred. HVAC certification required. Also required: Certification in First Aid and CPR within six months of the date assigned to this position; and successful completion of a Level II background screening, local criminal record check and drug screening prior to hiring. Experience Three (3) years of trade experience in performing general building maintenance and repair; maintenance, repair and installation of refrigeration, air conditioning and ventilation equipment preferably in an institutional or educational environment. Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a valid Florida drivers’ license and certifications necessary to drive all vehicles as required. Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area. Also required: Successful completion of a Level II background screening and drug screening prior to hiring.
