As a Preschool Assistant, you will work with students between ages 1 to 4 years old. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about education and looking to advance their careers by eventually stepping into a lead teacher role.As an Assistant Teacher, you will:Foster positive social and emotional growth in studentsWork collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure smooth classroom operationsEngage with parents or guardians to support student developmentHelp maintain a well-organized, vibrant, and interactive classroomIf a teaching position opens during the school year, the assistant teacher will be the first to step into the classroom role.ResponsibilitiesAssist the lead teacher in planning, supervising, and implementing the curriculum in alignment with Park Maitland’s policies and procedures.Step in as a substitute teacher when needed, ensuring continuity of learning.Support classroom organization, including contributing to the classroom’s appearance and dcor.Maintain and contribute to classroom displays, including student artwork and bulletin boards.Uphold a positive, non-punitive approach to classroom management, focusing on positive reinforcement.Demonstrate a strong commitment to the school’s values and ethos, maintaining professionalism at all times.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, ensuring a supportive and inclusive atmosphere.What We Are Looking ForA professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills, both internally and externallyStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staffDependability and punctuality, with a strong sense of responsibility.
