Qualifications Degree in Emergency Management/Preparedness, Disaster Management, Public Safety, or closely related field required2 years of experience in emergency management, emergency preparedness, emergency operations, safety, or related fieldTrained in emergency/disaster training and actual participation in disaster exercises. Ability to evaluate and act independently regarding safety issues, deficiencies, failures of equipment, etc.Completion of FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800 level coursesCompletion of NIMS 300 and 400 level courses within one year of hireTrained in emergency/disaster training and actual participation in disaster exercises.
