Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment.Martin South Hospital’s 2B/2C Telemetry Unit cares for cardiac patients and monitors their heart rhythm. Caregivers in this unit may clean and shave a patient’s skin to place electrodes, replace electrodes daily, change batteries in a telemetry device, help someone when their monitor’s alarm sounds and explain telemetry to patients.A caregiver in this position works 7:00PM – 7:30AM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide direct nursing care.Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.Administer prescribed medications and treatments.Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.Educate patients and their families.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).One-year of current acute care RN experience.
