Overview: The Maintenance Technician is to assist the Maintenance Supervisor in maintaining the physical integrity of the property. This involves ensuring a safe, secure and comfortable living environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The Maintenance Technician will carry out assigned duties in a safe manner and other duties as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor. In the absence of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will assume all maintenance responsibilities. The Maintenance Technician plans and carries out the successive steps of regular duties and handles problems and deviations in the work assignment in accordance with objectives, policies, previous training, or company practices.Physical DemandsThe work is demanding. Typically, the associate will not sit to do the work. There may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of moderate items such as papers, boxes, event items, collateral, books, small parts; driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.Work Environment10% of work to be conducted in an office environment, maintaining records, vendor/supply ordering. 90% of work is conducted out on property, requiring ability to walk great distances, lift up to 75lbs., climb and be comfortable on roofing, operate heavy machinery, and withstand extreme outdoor temperatures. What you will doThis skilled position involves installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control and CCTV Systems as well as other related building system products at customer sites. Including panel repair/reprogram, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and system testing. Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.
