Job Description:The Director of Finance position will perform the following duties:Participates in formulating and administering company policies and strategic planningDirects and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and operationsRepresents the company in banking and financial relationsDispenses advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out the financial operation of the company through other managementDirects and coordinates activities of department for which responsibility is delegated to further attainment of goals and objectivesReviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives.Creates, maintains and supports all reports pertaining to P & L/balance sheet/cash flowDiscusses financial reporting with first and second tier managementMeets with company executives to go over objectives, vision (strategic planning) and address company financial issuesDirects activities as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organizationDetermines fund availability and propriety of claimsAccounts for cash, checks, and other negotiable instruments.Oversees commitments and obligations, payments, and collectionsPrepares and executes financial plansInterprets and supplements financial directivesOversees processing, verifies, audits travel claims, estimates travel costs, determines fund availability, and performs follow-up Determines propriety and certifies availability of fundsSchedules, prepares, verifies, and submits financial accounting reportsPrepares narrative justification to support financial requirements. Oversees end of year audit.Reviews financial data for accuracy, and resolves discrepancies. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing, evaluating and terminating Accounting Department associates Responsible for managing Finance associates including performance appraisals Develops financial systems to facilitate informal management decision-making. Designs and implements processes to give managers the necessary financial data to make decisions and monitor performance (e.g., time tracking system). Ensures the effective management of financial operations. Ensures integrity of cash, receivables, and payables management.Executes all major financial transactions Monitors the overall financial health of the organization using established metrics. Enforces financial discipline/guidelines and controls to key players Arranges and oversees completion of all work including posting, processing, and verification of receipts, credit claims, refunds, interest charges, or similar records Analyzes and interprets financial data and recommends changes to improve systems and financial performanceSupervises collections functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial resultsCoordinates schedules, activities and reports with other departments.Analyzes, investigates and corrects accounting entries as neededExamines, analyzes and interprets records for the purpose of giving advice or preparing statementsPerforms reconciliation of complex transactionsProactively develops and maintains effective reporting and management processes to identify, measure, and drive business decisions from key financial information while safeguarding resourcesDirects and implements advanced systems, policies and procedures related to the organization’s fiscal function and performanceDevelops and maintains client relationships Identifies needed areas of change to prepare for continued corporate growthDevelops, customizes, and manages specialized client reporting functionOversees the maintenance and calculations of various incentive programs within the company.Provides and directs procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate financial controls and services.Performs additional duties as assigned by the PresidentQualification:*Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, or equivalent experience*6+ years of Finance and accounting experience *5+ years managing accounting staff - A/P, A/R, Credit*Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills*Must have experience supporting both income and expense organizations with responsibility for overall profitability*Must have experience in industry with comparable complexityCompany descriptionPFG Specialty is a family of premium, protein-focused companies, dedicated to delivering the highest-quality products and services to discerning restaurants.
