The Tree Groundsman will be responsible for assisting the tree climbers in the removal of trees, trimming of branches, and general maintenance of trees and shrubs. The ideal candidate will have experience in tree care and a strong commitment to safety. Basic drug screen and driver's license required. Position will require manual labor and exposure to the elements.
Duties include but are not limited to: Sweeping and blowing leaves and clippings Prune shrubs and trees as needed and clear debris Clean site and watch for trash, limbs, and rocks Operate powered equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chain-saws, sod cutters and pruning saws Prune and trim trees, shrubs and hedges using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge/brush trimmers, axes, shears, pruners or chain saws. Prep soil for tree planting; mulch application; preparation using soil amendments; core aeration or stump grinding Pruning, planting, removal or replacement of shrubs, plants, and flowers; pruning of trees and replacement of trees that are planted as a replacement due to the removal of diseased or damaged trees, or trees that constitute a hazard; non-substantive replacement of sod. Plant material properly considering depth, size, placement, and spacing Perform general maintenance on equipment Wash equipment and truck Maintain and repair tools, equipment, and structures such as, but not limited to, fences, benches, and minor out building maintenance using hand and power tools Perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of various landscaping equipment and materials, including, but not limited to backpack blowers, large containers of mulch/plant material, various sizes of lawn mowers, etc.
