Responsibilities: POSITION SUMMARY:The Cost Accountant is responsible for the preparation and analysis of accounting reports related to manufacturing processing at the Lenox facility, including liquid reconciliation, shrink, production efficiencies and downtime. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for weekly operational reporting related to manufacturing processing at the Lenox facility.Accumulate and review daily production documents and enter production statistics into files for additional reporting.Responsible for monitoring inventories (chemicals, raw materials, work in process, rework, and finished goods)to ensure their accuracy. Activities include: physical count updates in SAP, periodic cycle counts, and research of material count variances, reconciliations and applicable shrink reporting.Responsible for material setup, of new or existing items. Monitor updates to existing products and materials as necessary.Responsible for maintaining and preparing standard cost estimates.Responsible for assisting in the month-end accounting including the completion of journal entries as assigned.Assist with the completion of annual budgets.Assist in the development of new reports as requested to support plant operations.Complete special projects or other duties as required.Adhere to practices that ensure SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance. To include, but not limited to, obtaining management approval of material order variances and coordinating raw material cycle counting utilizing A,B,C methodology.Assumes personal responsibility to ensure safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
