Purpose: The Human Resources Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability and leaves of absence programs. This position lends support by answering complex questions using an in-depth knowledge of Company benefits, procedures, and policies; providing professional HR guidance to location managers; strengthening employee communication; and providing guidance and input to policy and procedures.

Develop a good rapport with employees and provide outstanding supportEnsure the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS systemProvide quality checks of benefit-related data; review benefit billing for accuracy prior to going to director for approvalAssists with employee benefit claims issues and plan changesProcess all benefit related personnel transactions from Hire to Retire by:
Working closely with managers and employees to insure timely and accurate completion of self-service enrollmentReviews and approves online transactionsOrganize and scan employee documents as neededResponsible for processing life status changes.Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork; medical, personal, disability and FMLA & death claimsEffectively interprets FMLA & ADA implications related to leaves of absence/disabilitiesAssist with Open Enrollment ProcessMay run ad hoc reports as requested by Management

Work Experience
3-5 years experience minimum in HR and/or benefits administration
Education, Certificates, Licenses, or Designations
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or related fieldCEBS and/or HR Certification Preferred
Specific Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with ADP or payroll/HRIS database preferred.
Work Environment: While performing essential duties of this position an individual regularly works indoors, and may be required to sit for long periods. Individual will be required to regularly talk, hear, see and often reach with hands, stand, walk, use a computer keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment. Noise level of the environment is generally quiet.
