THE OPPORTUNITY Engineering Interns are given opportunities to develop and apply their engineering knowledge in a real working process to further sharpen their skills and reinforce their academic learning. Each work term begins with a description of their work assignments. Their work is guided and mentored by a Senior Plant Engineer and/or Technical Manager. They are also given opportunities to work with other engineers and managers to broaden their plant experience. At the end of each work term the Engineer Intern is given the opportunity to present a summary of their work for the term. Key responsibilities: Production Engineer Ensure products meet our quality, cost, and efficiency requirements.Monitor day to day production results.Design, develop, and implement continuous process improvements.Assist with process troubleshooting and developing corrective action plans.Contribute to the design of moderately complex projects and/or handle elements of major projects. ABOUT YOU Desired Skills and Experience A successful candidate is expected to have good attendance, good communication skills, able to solve process problems, work others and independently. The candidate must also be able to use Microsoft Office Components--Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc., and learn other specific computer systems. Employment is contingent on the student being enrolled at a university, satisfactorily completing their course work, and continuing to take course work to complete a degree as a chemical engineer. What We Offer: This internship will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of plant operations of our largest plant. This internship comes with a $3000 Housing/Travel stipend in addition to an hourly wage of $22.00, and you will receive professional development through the 11-week program.
