The Home Care Field RN is a professional caregiver who is a member of the interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities include the coordination and provision of direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process to meet the physical, psychosocial, environmental, and spiritual needs of Carle Home Services specific patient populations and families throughout the geographical area.Demonstrates understanding of Medicare Home Care benefits including covered services, recertifications, transfers, and non-recertifications. Follows regulatory requirements regarding documentation standards.Comprehends department specific indicators.Performs case management activities of assessment, coordination, planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation. The Surgical Assistant functions as an integral part of the perioperative team as the assistant to the surgeon. Functions when required as the first or second surgical technician or second circulator under the direct supervision of the RN.Applies the principles of asepsis in a knowledgeable manner to maintain a sterile environment. The CT Technologist performs computerized axial tomography procedures utilizing various imaging equipment and contrast material. Prepares and administers contrast material based on Carle policies and procedures.Performs computerized axial tomography procedures and assigned invasive procedures by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accreting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and as outlined in department protocols. This includes performing multiplanar reformats and/or 3D rendered images independently. Reviews cases with the radiologist when appropriate. Reviews labs and patient history to perform correct exam. Administers IV contrast, and oral/rectal contrast when appropriate. Recognizes and responds to any adverse reactions or allergic reactions.Sceens the patient for possibility of pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing if applicable.Ensures patient, visitor and environmental safety. Reports safety events immediately including those that are a near miss.Assists in instruction of students and new staff as necessary. May perform duties of CT Lead or Imaging Coordinator in his/her absence.Meets productivity levels as established by department benchmarking. To perform routine and specialized examinations in the specialty area of CT and diagnostic radiology, adapt procedures to obtain specific diagnostic and/or therapeutic results; prepare patients for examinations. To perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiological procedures for patients of all ages in order to confirm or deny required treatment. The Registered Radiologic Technologist is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility of patients for a designated time frame and to provide care, specifically in the Heart & Vascular Institute. The patient population consists of those requiring an invasive cardiology or invasive radiology study. The Registered Radiologic Technologist will assist the physician in all procedures and provide a valuable service to the patient and the team.Administers contrast material (when applicable), according to physician's request, by means of existing IV line or by performing venipuncture and placing IV line; recognizes and responds to hypersensitivity or allergic reactions.All functions and duties will be under the direct supervision of a physicist or dosimetrist.Assists with inventory/supplies.Checks for correct patient and chart identification, diagnosis, and treatment position.Compiles pertinent clinical information pertaining to lab, pathology, etc.Assists in instruction of new staff as necessary.Documents accurately and completely.Explains procedure to patient and provides for patient care- including comfort, support, safety, and confidentiality.Accurately informs procedural nurse of correct doses of intra-procedural medications, radiation and sponge/sharp counts.Performs on call duties and/or work variable shifts as assigned to meet department needs.Performs all essential functions of the Radiologic Technologist.Able to work around and maintain a sterile field during procedures.Administers and with holds contrast and treatment as appropriate.
