The Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute of the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL is building the Carle Clinical Imaging Research Program (CCIRP) with a position to be filled at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The Carle Foundation is a vertically integrated healthcare system with almost 17,000 employees, a multi-specialty physician group, eight hospitals, and health plans. Carle is making a multi-million dollar investment in its research infrastructure, including CCIRP, CIAIC, clinical trials management, investigator-initiated support services, and other initiatives. The CIAIC's principal focus is a 7T Siemens TERRA whole-body MRI scanner, an FDA-approved system that is used for both research and clinical purposes and that is the only such system in the State of Illinois. Carle also has a Siemens 3T Prisma system, a 3T Vida system and two Siemens 1.5T Sola systems that are available for research. CCIRP has existing research programs in MRI physics, translational and clinical neuroimaging at 7T, and musculoskeletal MRI at 3T and 7T. Applicants are sought who will diversity this portfolio in areas such as pharmacologic MRI, movement disorders, cancer imaging, psychiatry, or other clinical neuroimaging research applications. The successful applicant will be expected to conceptualize, develop, and lead translational and clinical research projects involving 7T MRI; establish and lead a research group; and establish and sustain an independent externally-funded research program. Reports medical information obtained from patients and referring physicians accurately, completely and in a timely manner. Distributes all messages according to practice communication standards.Serves as a role model by conducting self in a responsible, professional manner.Manage all incoming patient care requests related to in-basket activities, referrals, work que activity, and incoming telephone calls.Proficient with insurance coverage rules.
