Schedule:
12 hours day shift 7am to 7pm - Week 1 schedule is 3 days worked, 4 days off. Week 2 schedule is 4 days worked, 3 days off.
Responsibilities:
Daily bending, lifting, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling activity to work on and around equipment.Evaluate equipment issues to trace back for repairing/replacing sensors, contacts, or other defective parts.Working with PLC equipment, multiple small tools, and high-voltage equipment.Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipmentExamine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start up machines for production needs when requiredPerform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machineryRepair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switchesObserve and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of problemDismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective partsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsInspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsLubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plantDocument and track changeover times and recordAccomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiencyFollows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to insure a safe work environmentPerform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED3-5 years’ experience in a maintenance of Can Assembly Presses within a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of training and experienceAbility to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, mechanical systems, pneumatic, and hydraulics.Knowledge of PLC Logic.Understand electrical panel and drive components.Understand gear trains, shafts/journals, pulleys, and bearings.Maintenance and repair of waxers, scroll shears and Cone Top presses.Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gaugesBasic understanding of systems, equipment and schematicsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skillsBasic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractionsAbility to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties
Physical Requirements:
Plant facility runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week consistently, excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down.Ability to be on feet consistently 8 hours up to a 12 hours per scheduled shiftWalking during this standing time throughout the plant to get to the different production lines.Climbing up and down ladders to get to the different work areas to work on the production lines, silos, molds. Reaching above shoulders, hand and wrist repetitive simple grasping to pick up tools to use during maintenance repair tasks.Shifts can be scheduled 5 days consecutive Monday to Friday or alternating 2-week rotation any of the production working days.Use of hands and fingers to perform job functionAbility to stoop, kneel, bend and climb, as needed to work in or around the machines being repaired. Ability to lift as needed up to 55lbs during scheduled shiftThe work environment is inside, however not temperature controlled. Exposed to both heat and cold depending on the daily weather conditions outside, and plastic mold machine station working at.The ability to wear required PPE from safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat (when require), cut resistant gloves, steel/composite toed safety shoes, and when necessary ARC Flash clothing.
