Role Summary: The Disassemble, Clean, and Inspect (DCI) Technician is responsible for the methodical teardown and documentation of rotating equipment that has been received at the repair shop for repair. This critical role will work on a diverse range of rotating equipment including multistage centrifugal pumps, between bearing and overhung pump, vertical pumps, small compressors, Decoking equipment, and other high energy pumps. The DCI Technician will receive a technical package that includes drawings and other equipment specifications to record disassembly and technical findings. Site engineers will use this data to determine the repair scope for the equipment. The DCI Technician must be very detail oriented and experienced in various failure modes like galling, bearing failure, excessive heat sign, and locate failed components to assist the engineering department to determine an appropriate repair path for the equipment. 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:30pm 2nd Shift: 2:30pm – 11pm 10% Shift Differential for 2nd Shift Responsibilities Include: Work safely while helping colleagues work safely and utilizing Stop Work Authority when appropriate.Follow pre-job brief and checklists prior to machining a partFollow all routers and assembly procedures needed to accurately Disassemble clean and inspect the received equipmentAccurately set up and read precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and other gaugesClean each part to be used and document the condition of componentsInspecting components/assemblies accurately and precisely, and clearly record the results of these inspections. This includes fits, clearances, TIR, and other no destructive testing PMI and Liquid penetrant inspections.Taking pictures to document condition and process.Communicating clearly and professionally with production planners and customers to discuss the component and pump conditionsCoordinate and interface with operations engineers as necessaryAccurately use precision measuring and inspection tools to measure dimensions of pump components and assemblies.
