Job SummaryThe Quality Assurance Team Lead provides supervision, technical assistance and scheduling to quality assurance technicians and associates. As a quality assurance professional, he or she is involved in all aspects of quality and safety including but not limited to audits, HACCP program evaluation, GMP training, sanitation evaluation, pest control, purchasing supplies, working with operations personnel on quality and safety issues, inspecting returned and incoming products, customer complaints, implementing policies and procedures and evaluating new equipment installation or repair.Position ResponsibilitiesCoordinates quality assurance activities (e.g., audits, training, purchasing, etc.)Provides technical assistance and training to QA personnelMonitors and verifies the HACCP plan's CCPs adhering to policy and procedureConduct GMP and sanitation audits of operations and warehouse areasWorks with operations personnel on quality and safety issuesVerifies operations control systems are functional and being followedPlaces product on hold, release or disposition as necessary while adhering to policy and procedureEvaluates damaged productsCoordinates resolution of customer complaints as necessaryEnsures SPC Management practices are followedCompletes analytical reviews of productOther duties as assignedPosition QualificationsBS Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science or other related degree required. Education may be substituted for years of experience3-5 years related experience required preferably in the food industryComplete understanding of Food Safety Guidelines/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safe practices and proceduresComplete understanding of HACCP PlansUnderstanding of government regulations (FDA, USDA)Familiar with Fundamentals of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to read, write and speak fluent EnglishLarge organization/corporate experienceAbility to prioritize and manage tasksProficient computer skillsAbility to read measurementsPhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
