Position is in Topeka, KS. May be a hybrid position; individual can work from home but will be required to report to the office as needed
Hours of Operation:8 am – 7 pm CST
Training length: approximately 6 weeks based on business need, class could be onsite or remote
NOTE:Remote classes require the trainee to attend class on site for a minimum of 2 full days to complete mandatory paperwork and mandatory online LMS courses such as HIPAA.
Trainee cannot miss more than 16 total hours during training.

Job Description:
As part of the KanCare Clearinghouse Program, the Customer Service Representative (CSR) will provide quality customer service in the KanCare Contact Center. The position is responsible for gathering thorough documentation and entering information into various systems
Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:
Dedicated and trained specifically for supporting KDHE’s programs, systems, policies, and proceduresAnswers questions about the eligibility process and provides general program information for Family Medical and E&D/LTC ProgramsResponds to calls courteously, accurately, and conciselyProvides a high-quality customer service and focuses on the accuracy of information providedEvaluates information received through a phone contact and asks appropriate follow-up questions, solicits additional information, and evaluates the potential impact of the information providedUse standard technology: telephones, e-mail, and web browsersMaintain with up-to-date knowledge of regulations, policies, and guidelinesComplete all assigned training as necessary
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
High School diploma or GED equivalent; post-secondary education preferredMinimum of six (6) months’ experience in customer serviceStrong computer skills with the ability to maneuver in complex software systemsMS Office, Outlook, and Internet usage experience
Preferred Skills or Knowledge:
Minimum of six (6) months’ experience in Family Medical Medicaid eligibilityKnowledge of Medicaid and managed care programsBilingual Spanish/English with the ability to speak and read both languages fluently.Active listening skillsCustomer orientatedAbility to adapt/respond to different types of charactersAble to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectivelyMust possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuationRequires excellent data entry skills the ability to type 28-30 minutes per minute accuratelyWillingness to work part of a teamMaintain the integrity and confidentiality of all records and communicationsAll other duties as assigned.

In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive.
