We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Clinical Professional Development Educator enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based quality educational programs and activities that promote professional aptitude for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assigned facility.What you will do in this role:Demonstrates the ability to adapt technique/treatment to age of population served, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, while providing care/service with respect to cultural differences and spiritual needsAssesses patients educational needs related to diabetes managementProvides individualized patient education related to diabetesFacilitates the learning process for the pediatric through adult patient population, creating a climate conducive to learningCollaborates with physicians to ensure optimal care of the patient with diabetesProvides interdisciplinary consultation on educational needs and concerns related to care of the patient with diabetesEvaluates effectiveness and outcomes of educational endeavorsIdentifies internal and external resources available for patients and staffDemonstrates expertise in the use of computer softwareParticipates in committees and task forcesProvides input into annual budget for the departmentPerforms all other duties as assignedWhat qualifications you will need:Required Registration, Licensure or Certification:Current Licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Current Multi-State Licensure as a Registered NurseCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPRPreferred Registration, Licensure or Certification: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)Required Education or Experience:Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursingOne year clinical experience in an acute care settingPreferred Education or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in nursing or healthcare fieldFor more than 100 years, Wesley Healthcare has provided exceptional care to thousands of families in Wichita and throughout Kansas and Northern Oklahoma.
