The Flagger is responsible for directing the flow of traffic around construction sites, road maintenance areas, and other work zones. This role involves setting up and taking down traffic control signs, cones, and barricades to ensure the safety of workers and the public. The Flagger uses hand signals, signs, and other traffic control devices to communicate with motorists and guide them safely through or around the work area. The position requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and the capability to stand for extended periods.
Set up signs, cones, and other traffic control devices around work areas to divert traffic. Effectively manage traffic flow with stop/slow paddles. Maintain clear and effective communication with team members using two-way radios. Regularly required to stand and walk and reach with hands and arms for up to 10 hours a day. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move items over 50 pounds. Drive company vehicles to transport traffic control equipment to and from job sites. Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure vehicles are in good working condition. Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, moving equipment and machinery parts, moving traffic, fumes, and airborne particles. Noise level of the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Get To Do Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures.Repair and maintenance functions consist of the following:Will perform diesel and gasoline engine repairs.Will diagnose and perform power train component repairs.Ability to troubleshoot and perform hydraulic system repairs.Must have a complete knowledge of truck air brake systems with the ability to diagnose and repair problems.Ability to repair suspension and steering system.Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.Ability to perform specialized component repair such as hydraulic and mechanical drives.Ability to make minor repairs including welding and cutting.Ability to perform and track Scheduled Maintenance in accordance with Hanson’s PM Program.Ability to perform road calls in a safe, fast and professional manner when necessary.Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety orders, including safety precautions on raised truck beds, brakes, mixer lockouts, etc.Will maintain good housekeeping with the ability to keep company records and complete work orders on equipment.Will perform other duties and assignments as required. What We Are Looking For Prefer high school diploma or general education degree (GED)Must have a minimum of one year of experience repairing heavy equipment or vocational trainingMust be able to write legibly to complete work orders and other required paperworkMust be able to read and comprehend maintenance manualsMust have basic hand and air tools required to repair heavy duty trucks.1 to 4 years of experience required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Physical Requirements: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, twisting, climbing, balancing, bending (bending at the waist, lifting above the waist and lifting below the waist), kneeling, reaching, grasping (use of both hands), squatting, repetitive motions, manipulative finger movements with both hands, use of wrists (flexing or rotating with both wrists), use of both feet, use of arms above and below shoulder, work extended periods of time in same position, perform duties in all climates i.e. weather, extreme temperatures, tolerate heights, lift and carry up to 75-100 lbs., work in confined spaces, capable of wearing respiratory and other personal protective equipment.
