Our nurses give it to them.The NICU is a 40-bed unit caring for neonates encompassing prematurity and extreme prematurity, low birth weight and extremely low birth weight, intrauterine growth restriction, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, congenital heart disease, chronic lung disease of infancy, seizures, hyperbilirubinemia, electrolyte disturbances, congenital anomalies, management of NAS, shock, Necrotizing Entercolitis, and perinatal asphyxia. Surgical emergencies include congenital diaphragmatic hernia, gastroschesis, hydronephrosis, teratomas, testicular torsion, tracheal-esophageal fistulas, esophageal atresia, spinal deformities, and imperforate anus.
