Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.Position Purpose:Perform field operations of sanitary collection system; and new collection system installations to ensure effective facility performance in compliance with all regulatory agencies.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:Performs routine, and/or emergency inspections of the sanitary sewer collection systemas determined by the CMOM program and/or management.Performs maintenance activities in accordance with written programs or directed by Chief Collections Operator and/or management staff.Operate sewer equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Said equipment shall include but not be limited to rodding machines, pumps, CCTV equipment, high pressure flushing equipment, chain saws, weed cutters, and other standard sewer collection equipment as needed to inspect, clean, and maintain a collection system.Performs grounds keeping requirement for example but not limited to snow removal, landscaping, easement clearing, painting, asphalt repair, etc. within the WWTF and collection system as required.Performs preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance on equipment according to vendor specifications.Perform routine lubrication of equipment and motors and replaces oil reserves; and obtains necessary parts through established procedures.Partakes in cross-training aspects of the Collection System operations, maintenance and safety duties.Perform work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electromechanical, and hydraulic equipment using tools and gauges of the trade.Perform repairs to all departmental equipment including, but not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, computer, software, and electrical components. Examples of these include CCTV repair to tractor, camera, coaxial cable, cable reel; generator; bypass trash pump; flushing truck; vactor truck.Work Environment:Requires working within traffic conditions while utilizing traffic control measures as needed/warranted.Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions within a team environment.Must be comfortable with confined space entry, traffic control, and sewer construction work.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:High School Diploma/GED is required.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Requires data entry in a computerized management system.Requires safely operating a wide variety of machinery, vehicles, material handling equipment, hand power tools, and specialized machinery for care of roads, grounds, galleries, structures, facilities, and appurtenances.Strongskills with reading, math, writing, verbal, and computer skills with an ability to read, interpret and record data.Able to read and interpret as-built drawings as directed.Required Certification/Licenses/Training:Requires a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.Requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL).Basic understanding of collection system operations in the form of Collections System Operator Certificate, Certification of NASCO’s Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) and Manhole Assessment Certification Program (MACP), OSHA ten-hour training, Traffic flagger certification.Physical Requirements:Ability to work in various positions which require walking (70%), standing (10%), sitting (10%) and bending (10%) and to be able to lift and carry 60 pounds in standing and bending positions, and carry while walking distances of 10 feet.Additional InformationWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer!
