The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Inpatient Pain Team will be responsible for:Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses in the inpatient setting. Instruct patients on how to proper collect sterile urine specimens. On a monthly basis check all medications (including samples) and appropriately dispose of expired medications. Obtain precertifications for tests, procedures, treatments, medications, and hospitalizations as needed. Schedule and arrange referrals and outside testing for patients as directed by physician. General Summary: The Structural Heart Program within the Division of Interventional Cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team as a primary point of contact across the continuum of care for patients, families, and their care team to facilitate referral management, triage coordination, provide patient education, pre, and post-procedural follow-up for our patients undergoing procedures within the Structural Heart Program. This position will primarily be focused on working with ambulatory patients within the Structural Heart Program and its new clinic, but also includes performing pre and post procedural assessments, inpatient consulting, and potential first assisting in cardiac procedures (if/when meets clinical competencies).
