Overview: SimVentions is looking for a primary software developer to become the duty expert for the Drone Detection and Defeat System (DDADS) software development. While the base software has been written and is updated, there is continued maintenance of the current system when component manufacturers release firmware updates to make sure everything continues to interoperate, and to fix any bugs found operationally. Additionally, there are development plans for improved system development embracing a modular approach to interfaces. Travel: 10 % Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required for this position. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field.Experience with Qt6 framework application developmentExperience in leading a software development for a tactical systemProficiency of the C++ Standard Library is required: (ie. maps, threading, iterators, etc)Experience with network distributed software applicationsExperience with Graphical User Interface applications developmentExperience with Linux operating systemAbility to work independently in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environmentAbility to define task details, estimates, and schedulesAbility to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writingSupport weekly meeting with sponsorProblem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Responsibilities: Generating and presenting software slides at Delivery Readiness ReviewsProviding technical expertise across software design and development, software management, software testing, and integration efforts for DDADSPerforming software design, development, coding, testing, and integration tasks across various software applications, while considering systems engineering, software assurance, and testing best practicesSupport troubleshooting of DDADS software/hardware (locally and remotely)Generating, updating, managing DDADS OS installation procedures, DDADS software installation procedures, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures, Quick Reference Guide, Interface Control Documents, and Software Issue Reports, per software release.Generating DDADS Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Test Plans and IV&V Test ProceduresIdentifying/coordinating test personnel for IV&V test events (local and/or shipboard)Reviewing DDADS IV&V Test Reports Preferred Skills and Experience: Knowledge of Agile development processes with re-occurring sprint based development iteratively developing/maturing a software product to align with customer requirements and feedback is desiredExperience with gtk UI frameworkExperience with ESRI ArcGIS mapping softwareExperience on Linux with POSIX/C++/Boosts Libraries Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Compensation: Compensation at SimVentions is determined by a number of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, training, security clearance, work location, skills, knowledge, and competencies, as well as alignment with our corporate compensation plan and contract specific requirements. The projected annual compensation range for this position is $86,000.00 - $110,000.00 Yr. and is just one component of the total compensation package that SimVentions offers.
