Candidate will guide users on the optimal selection and configuration of GCP resources to meet their specific needs will be responsible for successful delivery of activities across the enterprise, including:Cloud Architecture Design: Help users conceptualize and design comprehensive GCP solutions, providing guidance on resource allocation, scalability, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.Develop and maintain comprehensive cloud architecture blueprints for enterprise applications and workloads.Evaluate and recommend the most suitable GCP services and configurations for optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.Design scalable and resilient cloud solutions that meet workload owners’ specific requirements.Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like GCP Deployment Manager and Terraform.Solution Implementation: Lead the implementation of cloud solutions, including the migration of existing applications and the development of new cloud-native applications.Assist in the implementation process, offering insights on deployment strategies, automation, and monitoring.Configure and optimize GCP services, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning and management using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.Technical Guidance and Support: Provide expert technical guidance to IT teams and stakeholders on GCP best practices, architecture patterns, and troubleshooting techniques.Mentor and train junior cloud engineers on GCP technologies and solution design principles.Collaborate with GCP representatives to leverage their expertise and stay informed on the latest GCP offerings.Identify and resolve issues in existing GCP environments, analyze performance bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.Provide expert advice on GCP-related topics, such as cloud migration strategies, security hardening, compliance requirements, and integration with other systems.Performance Optimization: Monitor cloud performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.Conduct regular reviews of cloud infrastructure and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.Ensure that cloud solutions are highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-resilient.Security and Compliance: Design and implement cloud security controls to protect end user data and applications.Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, regulations, and policies.Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address potential risks.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with minimum of 12+ years of experience architecting and implementing GCP cloud solutions.Google Certified: GCP Solutions Architect Professional certification.Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex migrations with multiple stakeholders.Experience with GCP cloud technologies and migration strategies.Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (Deployment Manager, Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).Experience with GCP DevOps for CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.ITIL Foundations certification.Preferred QualificationsDeep understanding of GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, etc.) and their integration.Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) and experience with automation frameworks.Experience delivering IT services in support of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or in a biomedical research environment.One or more of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, PMI Project Management Professional (PMP).Original Posting Date:2024-06-20While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
