PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITIONThe position is within the Shop Services Department and is responsible for performing precision machining operations on manual and CNC machines to manufacture new or replacement components to support power generation. This position also supports shop refurbishments of various power plant equipment such as pumps, fans and turbine components. The Shop team supports a culture of continuous improvement through training and process improvements while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESManual Machining with high degree of accuracySet up and perform maintenance machining operations with a variety of materials using equipment such as:Bridgeport milling machines.Engine lathes &ndash 3 and 4 jaw chucksSurface grindersVertical boring millsVertical/Horizontal band saws,CNC Machining with high degree of accuracyMachine set up, operate and troubleshoot machining operations with a variety of materials usingequipment such as:CNC Vertical Milling Centers &ndash HAAS / Fanuc controlsCNC Lathes &ndash Fanuc controlsCAD/CAM Programming &ndash GibbsCAMTechnical SkillsInterpret and understand prints and assembly drawingsGeometric dimensioning / tolerancingShop math to set up machinery and perform quality checks.Attention to detail and qualityPerform maintenance and repair work on plant equipment such as:Pumps, Gearboxes, Fans, Bearings and ValvesPerform disassembly and inspection for part repair or replacement and assembly.Sound mechanical maintenance practicesAdhere to conduct of maintenance, safety standards and established maintenance standardsSafely perform rigging and lifting tasks, operate shop cranes and forklifts.***This role can be filled at Associate, Mid-level or Senior level.
