The Occupational Therapist is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include Responsible for providing clinical consultations, evaluations, and rehabilitation programming for individuals at the Center for Autism. Services may include: preliminary screening of individual needs for OT intervention, ADL and clinical evaluation and treatment, maintaining accurate data and treatment records accounting for treatment activities, and participation of departmental maintenance and program development. Consult with center staff to assure comprehensive delivery of recommended services to individuals. Responsible to adhere to established standards determined by the Nation Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. in all areas of individual intervention and hold valid Michigan licensure. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential requirement of this position.Train, schedule and supervise assigned staff in carrying out individual treatment plans.Services provided may include: Sensory Processing evaluation, performing the ADL, IADL and/or other appropriate clinical assessments, designing and monitoring subsequent treatment. Identification of appropriate treatment techniques, activities, and/or programs within the scope of OT practice. Participating in staff education and training as needed.Promote community integration.Develop and implement groups, and family education from established goals.Ensure assessment, goal setting and treatment (treatment may include individual and group setting) are person-centered.Collaborate with primary Case Holder to ensure goals are included the Individual Plan of Service (IPOS) when necessary.Complete timely documentation of progress notes, initial evaluations and discharge summaries, home assessments, home programs, and consultation notes as indicated.Monitor individual progress and maintain accurate records of treatment through data collection and treatment reports as assigned.Serve as a member of an interdisciplinary team for assigned individuals. Participate in individual goal development, coordination of services, discharge planning and family education as needed.Develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with all individuals.Attend and verbally present at team meetings, clinical reviews, staff meetings and in-services. Attends departmental meetings and participates in program development.Order individual specific treatment supplies and equipment.Follow established policies and procedures to ensure safety of staff and individuals.Provide supervision for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, and/or OT students as required.Other duties as assigned. The Speech/Language Pathologist - CFA is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: provision of speech and language pathology services to child and adolescent consumers of Hope Network Center for Autism. This includes evaluation, treatment planning, and implementation of these services, individual, family, and staff education, communication with physicians and schools and discharge planning. The employee is required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as assigned Meets all requirements of Approved Autism Evaluation Center (AAEC) to perform diagnostic services as defined by Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Care Network.Provides diagnostic services using selected standardized and informal assessment procedures to determine the nature, severity, and prognosis for rehabilitation of language, communication, and oral-motor disorders based on the developmental age of the child/adolescent. Recommends and implements treatment procedures based on these findings.Provides speech and language therapy services as indicated based on the developmental age/needs of the individual served.Provides leadership and consultation to the Center for Autism staff for skill development.Provides oral-motor and feeding diagnostic services and treatment for children/adolescents/ young adults.Assesses and coordinates for augmentative/assistive communication technology.Provides developmental speech, language and functional communication skill development.Maintains complete and accurate clinical and billing records reflecting clinical services rendered.Keeps supervisor informed of clinical issues, problems, and professional activities.Assists to keep team abreast of research findings and new techniques in the field of child/ adolescent speech/language pathology and cognitive rehabilitation.Participates in quality assurance, program evaluation, and curriculum rating scale activities as assigned. Position Requirements: Minimum Education required: Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.Holds ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech/language pathology or equivalent, or is a CFY candidate for ASHA's CCC in speech.Demonstrated ability to communicate in verbal and written formats to meet position expectation.Valid driver’s license required according to Hope Network policy.Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder.Knowledge of common child/adolescent language, speech, and communication disorders and treatment.Knowledge of oral motor/feeding disorders and treatment protocols for children/adolescents.Two to five years’ experience with emphasis on children and adolescents.Prior clinical experience with individuals with developmental disability or diagnosis of Autism Disorder.
